Data Retention Policy Controls

Most organizations have a records-management policy that says operational data lives N years, audit logs live M years, transient data is purged after K days. clearPath gives you the controls to enforce that policy from inside the application instead of writing custom database scripts. Each retention window is configurable per data class, scheduled to run automatically, and logged so you can prove the policy is being applied.

Retention is conservative by default. Nothing is purged silently, and anything cleaned up is logged with row counts and date ranges. Operational data and the chain-of-custody activity log can carry different retention windows so your business records aren't constrained by aggressive log rotation, and your logs aren't kept indefinitely just to retain the business records.

Database Cleanup Configuration

The database cleanup configuration page lays out every retention window in one place. Pick the data class, set the retention period, choose the run schedule, and clearPath handles the rest. Each scheduled run leaves a log entry behind with the rows affected and the date range purged so policy enforcement is auditable, not invisible.

  • One screen for every retention window
  • Per-data-class schedule and threshold
  • Automatic, logged execution
  • Manual run with a dry-run preview
  • Honors archived vs. live records
  • Pairs with the activity log for full audit evidence
